You Are Amazed By The Level of Depravity and Immorality-What Is The Root Cause?!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Allaah (The Most High) said:

Is it then he, who laid the foundation of his building on piety to Allah and His Good Pleasure, better, or he who laid the foundation of his building on an undetermined brink of a precipice ready to crumble down, so that it crumbled to pieces with him into the Fire of Hell. And Allah guides not the people who are the Zalimun (cruel, violent, proud, polytheist and wrong-doer). [Soorah At-Tawbah: Ayah: 109]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said:

Whoever desires the elevation of his building (i.e. his actions and deeds), then it is incumbent upon him to strengthen and fortify its foundation and he should give great concern to that. (That is) because the elevation of the building is determined by the firmness and fortification of its foundation. Actions and positions (of lofty status) are a building and Eemaan is their foundation. When the foundation is strengthened, it carries and elevates the building; and when something from the building is damaged, it is easy for it to withstand it. If the foundation (i.e. Eemaan) is not firm then neither will the building be elevated nor will it be firm, and if something from the foundation is wrecked the building will either fall or about to fall.  Therefore the concern of a knowledgeable person is that he makes the foundation sound and fortified, but the ignorant person elevates whilst building upon other than a foundation, so his building does not remain- in order not to fall.

The foundation of actions is like the bodily strength of a person, so if the strength is vigorous the body is able to withstand burden and repels many harmful affairs from him. If the strength is weak, the body’s ability to withstand burden is weakened and the harmful affairs are the quickest things to come upon him. Therefore support your building (i.e. your actions and deeds) with the foundation of the strength of Eemaan; for if something from the top of your building decays and falls down, then it would be much easier for the (building) withstand (the damage), rather than the destruction of the foundation. This foundation (constitutes) two affairs:

Firstly: Sound knowledge and awareness of Allaah, His Commandments, Names and Attributes. Secondly: Complete submission to Allaah and His Messenger, and not to others.  This is the firmest foundation upon which the slave establishes his building (i.e. his actions and deeds) and he elevates his building how he wishes in accordance with it. Therefore, he solidifies the foundation, preserves the its strength and continues upon enthusiasm, and thus what is desired is reached… [Source: Al-Fawaa-id: page: 154][End of quote]

We ask Allaah (The Most High) to grant us firmness in holding unto His Book, The Sunnah of His Messenger and the understanding of the Sahaabah.  We ask Allaah by His Greatest Name to protect us and our families from every affair that is in opposition to the infallible and upright moral character preached and practiced by His Prophets and Messengers.  We ask Him (The Most High) to protect us from the callers to shirk, disbelief, immorality, deviation, confusion, hypocrisy, trickery and lowly desires.  We ask Him (The Most High) to protect us and our families from those who take their desires as their god.  We ask Him (The Most High) to grant us a good end—that we die whilst singling Him out in all acts of worship, in following His Messenger Muhammad and the example of the Sahaabah.  (Aameen)
