The Journey to Hajj with At-Taqwah Hajj 2015- A Brief Account
In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy
On the 19th of September 2015, my beloved brother Abu Aa’isha and I (Al-Markazus Salafi) left for Hajj together with At-Taqwah Hajj [our beloved brothers Abu Amaan (Shafeeq) and Ustaadh (Abu Idrees)] and other brothers from Birmingham and other UK cities (may Allaah accept our Hajj and theirs. Aameen).
Firstly: Indeed, we praise and thank Allaah for granting us the Tawfeeq to perform Hajj with At-Taqwah Hajj- from those known in the Uk for their adherence to the Sunnah by the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah in this era. The journey to hajj, without a doubt, should be one of perseverance, patience and adherence to the Sunnah, as our Ustaadh Abu Idrees constantly reminded us. Ustaadh Abu Idrees always reminded us of this affair whenever we were about to embark upon any deed that was connected to the rites of Hajj as well as the fact that Ikhlaas and Mutaaba’ah were the only conditions that would lead to success. The lectures delivered at Mina by Ustaadh Abu Idrees were not only a reminder at Hajj, rather they were reminders we continue to benefit from after Hajj. This was the most important affair and Ustaadh placed great emphasis on it. He reminded the Hujjaaj at At-Taqwah Hajj that they have spent a lot of money and will be exerting themselves in Allaah’s path, but without Ikhlaas and Mutaaba’ah deeds are fruitless. So may Allaah (The Most High) reward Ustaadh with khayrun Khatheer in this Dunyah and the Aakhirah, and make his family the comfort of his eyes in this Dunyah and the Aakhirah. Aameen
Secondly: We were blessed with the company of our brother Abu Amaan (Shafeeq)- the partner and companion of Ustaadh Abu Idrees at At-Taqwah Hajj. Indeed, I truly appreciate Shafeeq’s beautiful companionship. Lol, there were times in which a person was overcome with tiredness and lack of sleep, however both Shafeeq and Ustaadh (may Allaah preserve them) knew exactly how to offer reassurance as well as giving us enough time to recover in order to perform the rites with enough energy, dedication and concentration to the best of our ability. Some of the elders amongst us faced difficulties and this is when one truly valued the care, compassion, assistance and love offered by both our beloved Shafeeq and Ustaadh. It was not merely the fact that people deserved the good service, rather what a person should truly value the most is the love, compassion and brotherhood that was never compromised by both our beloved Shafeeq and Ustaadh. They both showed great consideration for the feelings of those under their care and addressed them in a frank and honest manner, but at the same time they were gentle and compassionate.
Lol, there were times I needed clear instructions in order to enable me to abandon my naivity, especially in the morning after spending the night at Muzdalifah. Many of us were exhausted and I, in particularly, was beginning to feel sorry for myself, until Ustaadh gave some gentle, but frank and clear instructions regarding the consequences of lagging behind. Indeed, I would have caused much trouble for the group because getting lost would have led to huge delays as the group would not have been able to proceed anywhere without me. May Allaah (The Most High) reward our beloved Ustaadh and Shafeeq for acting promptly where it really mattered.
Thirdly: Waiting at different locations before moving to other destinations can be boring at times, but Ustaadh and Shafeeq never abandoned us. Ustaadh, in particular, would disappear for some time in order to speed up the procedures, whilst Shafeeq’s presence was that of reassurance and calm. And as soon as the waiting ended, you were sure to enjoy a prolonged period of comfort, brotherhood, love, compassion and good advice whenever needed. We would settle in our rooms after Ustaadh made sure that everyone was in the right place and Shafeeq was always smiling- that beautiful reassuring smile which an exhausted person desperately needs to reassure him/her that ease was just round the corner after exerting oneself in the path of Allaah. Indeed, our journey (In-Shaa-Allaah) was one of beautiful perseverance, patience, striving in the path of Allaah and wisdom whilst dealing with people of different characters. Ustaadh and Shafeeq made sure that we were reminded of this that we do not ruin our hajj by falling into any evil.
After the Hajj, we stayed at the clock tower Hotel at Makkah- just a few minutes away from the Masjid al Haraam. This made it very easy for us to perform the five daily prayers at the Masjid Al-Haraam, as well as the Tawaaf Al-Widaa at a convenient time the day before leaving Makkah.
At Madeenah, we stay at the Anwar Moevinpick Hotel- less than 10mins walk from Masjid An-Nabawi. Our stay in Madeenah was a time of great joy because the Prophet’s Masjid was just few minutes away, so one had the great opportunity to pray there 5 times a day. We also visited Uhud and Masjid Qubaa. Likewise, one of the things that pleased my heart the most was that Shaikh Ubaid (may Allaah preserve him) visited both At-Taqwah Hajj and Premier Hajj at the hotel in Madeenah. We also had the opportunity to see Shaikh Rabee, Shaikh Muhammad Bin Haadi, Shaikh Abdullah Al Bukhari and Shaikh Abdur Rahmaan Muhiyuddeen (may Allaah preserve them). Likewise, we were also blessed with the ability to sit in the duroos of Shaikh Abdul Muhsin, Shaikh Abdur Razzaaq Al Badr and Shaikh Ali Naasir Al-Faqeehee (may Allaah preserve them).
Fourthly: I had the great pleasure of keeping the company of our noble teachers Abu khadeejah, Abu Hakeem, Taqweem Aslam and our noble brothers Zakir, Ameerul Haq, Humaid, Shuhood, Abu Maryam, Ibraaheem Al-Yemini and his brother in law Hilmi, and others. I spent a lot of valuable time with Ustaadh Abu Khadeejah and Ustaadh Bilaal in particular, especially when they delivered their Duroos at Mina. Likewise, I spent valuable time with Ibraaheem Yemini (Stoke-On-Trent) and his brother in law Hilmi-reminding one another about the Sunnah and brotherhood. There was always an atmosphere of great warmth, brotherhood and love whenever I visited our brothers at Premier Hajj and maybe (Lol) I was the only one who managed to get both a Premier T Shirt and a Taqwah T Shirt because I bullied Ustaadh Abu Khadeejah to give me one, even though noble and beloved brothers Ameerul Haqq and Abu Maryam protested. However, their hearts must have softened after I wore the Premier Hajj T.Shirt and accompanied them at Jamraat and this is enough as Ustaadh Bilaal testified to my love for Premier Hajj lol. By Allaah Ikhwaan, it was a great blessing to be with the people of Sunnah at At-Taqwah Hajj and Premier Hajj (may Allaah preserve them). I was with At-Taqwah Hajj, who looked after us with great care, compassion and concern, but also the companionship and brotherhood at Premier Hajj was amazing.
Fifthly: We also prayed Salaatul Juma’ah at the Masjid Shaikh Ubaid (may Allaah preserve him) delivers his Duroos. We met many Salafiyyoon from the UK at the Masjid, such as Abdul Muhsin (former head teacher of Salafi School Birmingham), Abu Hammaad (Spubs), Ustaadh Abdul Ilaah, Ustaadh Amjad Husain (Spubs) and others. We also met the Bradford brothers and Ustaadh Ali Mir at Makkah, and also spoke to our beloved Ustaadh Saalim (Bradford). May Allaah reward them all with good. Aameen
I also met Ustaadh Uwais At-Taweel (may Allaah preserve him) at close proximity for the first time and spoke to him. He asked whether I have met Shaikh Rabee and the other Mashaayikh and reassured me that we’ll see them inshaaAllaah. By Allaah, the obligation we sought to fulfil was to perform Hajj and it was the reason behind our journey, but we also had the opportunity to see the Mashaayikh of Sunnah, the students of the Sunnah and the people of the Sunnah. We praise and thank Allaah for granting us this great blessing.
I thank all my room mates at Makkah and Madeenah for exercising patience whilst bearing my faults and shortcomings, especially my beloved younger brother and close companion Abu Aa’isha Amjad Khan (Al-Markazus Salafi). Indeed, Amjad (may Allaah preserve him) was a true companion and a constant adviser.
Finally: Indeed all the brothers at At-Taqwah Hajj- young and old- showed great forbearance, patience, love and respect, especially brother Nidal Attieh (May Allaah reward them with good in this life and the next). As for Ustaadh Abu Idrees and Shafeeq, the least I can say is that Allaah (The Most High) made them a means to all this khayr, for they aided us to perform the Hajj upon the authentic Sunnah. They aided us to be at our best behaviour upon the Sunnah, looked after us closely and enquired about our welfare constantly. So what more can we ask for! I ask Allaah to grant them the khayr of this Dunyaah and the Aaakhirah. I ask Allaah (The Most High) to select for them the best of their deeds and reward them with a great reward. I ask Allaah to protect them and their families and make their children the coolness of their eyes in this Dunyaa and the Aakhirah. I ask Allaah (The Most High) to grant them beneficial knowledge, abundant pure provision and righteous actions pleasing to Him. Aameen
And Allaah knows best.
