Caution Against The Chief Deceiver’s Fifth and Sixth Plots On Twitter!
In The name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy
In Madaarij As-Saalikeen Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) -whilst discussing the underlying reasons related to repentance- stated that a person should contemplate on the affair of the one who commands him (or her) to commit the act of disobedience and makes it fair seeming – the shaytaan who is assigned to him (or her). This shaytaan wants to make the person fall into seven affairs- some of which are more unpleasant than others.
This shaytaan –firstly- entices the person to disbelieve in Allaah etc; if unsuccessful, he entices the person to fall into bidah…..etc; if he is unsuccessful in this attempt to entice the person into bidah, he entices the person to commit major sins……etc; if he is unsuccessful in this attempt to entice the person to commit major sins, he entices the person to accumulate minor sins…..etc; if he is unsuccessful in this attempt to entice the person to accumulate minor sins, he entices the person to be busy with permissible things that neither brings about reward nor punishment….etc; if he is unsuccessful in this, he entices the person to perform a good deed with a lesser reward than another good deed….etc Then Imaam Ibnul Qayyim stated that the sixth affair is something few people realise….etc
And if this shaytaan fails in all the above six affairs, he rallies his armies to inflict various harms against the person- by the hand (i.e. physical), the tongue (i.e. through speech) and the heart (i.e. hatred, malice, envy etc). [End of abridged paraphrase] [Ref 1]
All praise is due to Allaah, the Salafi Ulama and students teach us the correct Aqeedah and Manhaj, and they wage war against shirk, bidah and all types of sins. Therefore we should learn and constantly ask Allaah for Tawfeeq to enable us to act upon the little we know, and that Allaah grants us Ikhlaas, thabaat and husnul khaatimah.
But let us also – at Al-Markazus Salafi – ponder upon the 5th and 6th plots of the chief deceiver (shaytaan)! If our twitter accounts are for the purpose of benefiting one another, then we should take great care regarding what we Tweet and Retweet in order to perform more virtuous deeds by the Tawfeeq of Allaah. And Allaah knows best.
