”O you who believe! Remember Allaah with much remembrance…”
Allaah (The Most High) said:
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ ذِكْرًا كَثِيرًا
وَسَبِّحُوهُ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا
”O you who believe! Remember Allah with much remembrance. And glorify His Praises morning and afternoon.” [33:41-42]
Allaah (The Most High) commanded the believers to remember Him with much remembrance—with (the utterance) of Tahleel ( لا إله إلا الله ); Tahmeed (الحمد لله ); Tasbeeh (سبحان الله); Takbeer (الله أكبر ) and other than that; and with every speech that draws a (person) close to Allaah. And the least is that a person is constant in performing the supplications of the morning and the evening; after the five obligatory prayers and at times when one is faced with obstacles and situations. It is incumbent to be constant in (this remembrance) at all times and in all circumstances; because that is indeed worship through which a doer of (good) deeds is made triumphant, and it is a (source) of comfort; an urge towards (having) love for Allaah, knowledge and awareness of Him; an assistance towards performance of good and a guard for the tongue against ugly speech.
وَسَبِّحُوهُ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا ”And glorify His Praises morning and afternoon”—that is: The early part of the day (i.e.morning) and its end (i.e. evening) because of their virtue and lofty status, and (because) of the easiness of performing deeds within them.
