They are the Only Perfect Examples and the Only Ones Chosen For Mankind To Follow
Allaah (The Most High) said:
”They are those whom Allah had guided. So follow their guidance” [6:90]
They are the only people of guidance and not others; So follow them in their religion of Islamic Monotheism and emulate their patience. [3 ]
Allaah (The Most High) said:
And We bestowed upon him Ishaque (Isaac) and Ya’qub (Jacob), each of them We guided, and before him, We guided Nuh (Noah), and among his progeny Dawud (David), Sulaiman (Solomon), Ayub (Job), Yusuf (Joseph), Musa (Moses), and Harun (Aaron). Thus do We reward the good-doers.
And Zakariya (Zachariya), and Yahya (John) and ‘Iesa (Jesus) and Iliyas (Elias), each one of them was of the righteous.
And Isma’il (Ishmael) and Al-Yas’a (Elisha), and Yunus (Jonah) and Lout (Lot), and each one of them We preferred above the ‘Alamin (mankind and jinns) (of their times).
And also some of their fathers and their progeny and their brethren, We chose them, and We guided them to a Straight Path.
This is the Guidance of Allah with which He guides whomsoever He will of His slaves. But if they had joined in worship others with Allah, all that they used to do would have been of no benefit to them.
They are those whom We gave the Book, Al-Hukm (understanding of the religious laws), and Prophethood. But if these disbelieve therein (the Book, Al-Hukm and Prophethood), then, indeed We have entrusted it to a people (such as the Companions of Prophet Muhammad) who are not disbelievers therein.
They are those whom Allah had guided. So follow their guidance. Say: “No reward I ask of you for this (the Qur’an). It is only a reminder for the ‘Alamin (mankind and jinns).”
Few Reminders Related to The Above Aayaat:
After Allaah (The Most High) mentioned His slave and friend Ibraaheem (alayhis-salaam), and what was bestowed upon Ibraaheem – knowledge, Dawah (in the path of Allaah) and patience- Allaah then mentioned the righteous offspring and the good progeny bestowed upon Ibraaheem (alayhis-salaam). Allaah created the purest of people from the progeny of Ibraaheem (and also the progeny of Nuh).
They are the only people of (right) guidance; So follow them in their religion of Islamic Monotheism and emulate their patience. [3 ]
The Messengers whose stories have been mentioned in the Qur’aan are more virtuous than the Messengers whose stories have not been mentioned. These are the people whom Allaah gave superiority over all the creation during their time [i.e. before the advent of Muhammad (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam)]. He guided them to the straight path -in knowledge and deeds, particularly the Ulul Azm [Muhammad, Nuh, Ibraaheem, Musa and Isa]. All these Messengers were from the righteous servants of Allaah; rather they from the foremost of the righteous servants and guides of the righteous servants. Allaah chose them and guided them to the straight path. This is the guidance of Allaah besides which there is no other guidance.
